Amazon Prime offers a lot of bang for your buck

The days of expensive network TV and cable services dishing up TV shows and movies are headed the way of the DoDo. Many enslaved by high-priced cable companies have cut the cord in favor of online streaming services. Me, I like Amazon Prime.

Online streaming makes it easy to pick and choose what you want to watch, when you want to watch them. But all of these streaming services are limited. Except one.

Amazon Prime is the only music streaming service offering Free 2-day shipping with no minimum order size.

Online streaming provides a wide variety of music from classical to country, jazz to heavy metal. But the biggest downside of some online streaming services is the cost. Which increases with every “benefit” you add on.

That’s why I like Amazon prime so much. It’s got a lot of bang for your buck. And it’s a great deal if you buy a lot of stuff online which I do. Prime offers unlimited free 2-day shipping in addition to its online streaming  that can’t be beat.

Here’s what you get

  • Unlimited, ad-free streaming of more than a million songs
Instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows
Borrow Kindle books from the Amazon Kindle library

Prime Video
Making video selections with prime’s menu is easy. I like that everything is listed in a capsule format in several different categories. Some of which you can tailor to your own tastes or have Prime do that for you.

Prime and Amazon Instant video selections are clearly defined, with listing for rentals or purchases right below these. No. Not all of Prime videos are free. But with selections changing all the time, you may never run out of the free options. Video streaming saves a lot of runs to the local video store

Video and audio playback
Video and audio playback are superior. I run Google Chrome now on everything I do. I did notice an uptick in video and audio quality when I did. Sound is much richer and video enhanced. There are still some stuff that runs better on Firefox, but then I have the ability to switch back and forth.

Prime offers some network TV shows the other services don’t  archived and ready to go. Shows like CBS’s Under the Dome USA’s Suits and HBO’s Band of Brothers. There’s a bunch of documentaries that are added too. A show’s season can be viewed in succession with the flick of a bottom screen button which advances the selection forward to the next episode. If you grow tired of intro music, just simply skip it. Can’t be much easier than that.

I’ve had Prime for several months now and really enjoy it. I like the variety of music genre choices to listen to or run as background while I work. And the best choice you can make is to do a free 30-day trial test drive.

Try Prime today to see if the service is all it claims to be. With the amount of stuff I buy online, I recouped my original investment with just six product orders.

One Downside…Maybe
The only downside Prime has is they don’t offer subscriptions – as yet. The $99 membership fee  must be paid upfront. This breaks down to just $8.25 a month which is still a bargain when you add all the services they offer. Especially the free shipping  And it’s all commercial free.
