Pro version autoschedule feature makes messaging easy
Hootsuite’s Pro version allows you to schedule when you want your messages to be sent, right away or any time in the future. I especially like the AutoSchedule feature.
This do-hickey can make your social media management a breeze, especially if you have global business contacts or have a direct sales business across in different time zones. Once you create a message, you schedule it and relax while the social media ap does the work for you.
You can program it to send out a single message 10 times a day for 7 days. You can also set it when you need to send a single one-shot message or group for a shorter time period.
You can add a photo or see a preview of your message before it’s sent, making quick edits easy.
Great for internet marketers
It’s also great for internet marketers interested in social media management and promoting a special offers of product for a time period you control, since it shifts your marketing of products, posts or special promotions into automatic for any particular days, week or 10-day period you control.
This is a vast time-saver when your marketing is tied to a holiday or special event. You can add a code to a message and track where the sales come from and how well your offer performed.
Messages are also archived to make it easy for you to keep an eye on what you sent and when.

While Hootsuite does archive sent messages, it’s a good idea to archive your tweets or posts just in case something goes bonk during the night.
I also use a Word doc to create and archive my Hootsuite messages in this format:
Use a spreadsheet for easy tracking of your campaigns
But it still is quite a job to scrolling thru pages to find the message set you’re looking for, even with separate pages containing several category messages. It’s OK but still takes time and it’s quite a job if you’re promoting several promotions, products or posts. The easiest way to track these messages is is to create a simple spread sheet in this format:
Date FB Twit Autosch Post or product promoted (hyperlinked) Category
This allows you to keep track of what you sent and when and it’s time to resend.
A free tool for character counting
Keep in mind that Twitter has a 140-chracter limit. If your word processor doesn’t have a character counter, you can use this free tool to do the same
I generally limit my FaceBook message post to about the same length, because several studies have shown that shorter messages work better.
Hootsuite is a paid tool, and will cost you a whopping $5.99 a month. But it’s worth more than its weight in gold in terms of the time you save. It has a wide range of applications, far more than outlined here, including direct or telesales. A free 30-day trial is included in my link, but I’d betcha dollars to donuts that you’ll keep it causes it’s such a terrific time-saving tool.
